The White House has been presenting proposals aimed at persuading people to marry and have children, being an effort driven by external groups focused on increasing the birth rate of the nation after years of decline.
One of those proposals that has been launched to the White House advisors is a “baby bonus” of $ 5,000 for each American mother after giving birth.
“It seems like a good idea,” said President Donald Trump on Tuesday when asked about a $ 5,000 incentive for the new mothers.

When ABC News asked him about the proposals that the Administration has been presenting, the White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said the president is “proudly implementing political to elevate US families.”
“The president wants the United States to be a country where all children can grow safely and achieve American dream. As a mother, I am proud to work for a president who is taking significant measures to leave a better country for the next generation,” Leavitt said.
The sources warned that, although the advisors are considering the ideas, Trump has not made a final decision on any of the proposals.
A White House official pointed ABC News to the policies Trump has led so far to help families, specifically citing their executive order directed to Increase in access and affordability for in vitro fertilization, or IVF. The official also warned against the linking of external proposals to the White House.
The Trump administration has made a significant effort to promote families and emphasized that more babies should be born in the United States.
In the campaign, Trump coined the “King of the IVF”, and in March, he joked that he would be known as the “fertilization president.”

Vice President JD Vance has also made a concerted effort to encourage people to have more children. During the 2024 campaign, Vance said that the fiscal credit of children should be extended, stating that he would love to see him $ 5,000 per child, but said he must be prepared with Congress to see his viability.
And in March for Life at the end of January, Vance told the crowd that he wanted “more babies in the United States of America” and asked the government to do their part to ensure that families can afford to take care of their children.
“I want happier children in our country, and I want beautiful young men and women who are eager to welcome the world and eager to raise them. And it is our government’s task to facilitate young mothers and fathers to afford to have children, bring them to the world and welcome them as the blessings that we know are,” said Vance.
“We need a culture that celebrates life at all stages, one that recognizes and really believes that the reference point for national success is not our GDP number or our stock market, but if people feel that they can raise prosperous and healthy families in our country,” he added.

Simone Collins and her husband, Malcolm Collins, are pro-naturalists who have advocated actions so that it is less difficult for families to have children and, ultimately, reverse the decrease in birth and marriage rates. Simone Collins told ABC News that she and her husband have presented several drafts of the White House Domestic Policy Council, including granting a “National Motherhood Medal” to mothers with six or more children. They also proposed that couples should not face a tax sanction for marrying.
She said the White House was receptive to drafts and is checking them.
However, the CEO of the moms, Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, whose organization says that defends in the name of more than one million mothers and families, said the programs are “pure crazy: coercive and counterproductive recipes for failure.”
“There is no doubt that families need policies that make mothers and parents take care of their children, go to work and contribute to their communities,” he said in a press release, arguing that the care of affordable children and elders, access to maternal medical care and the remunerated family license would better encourage people to start and make their families grow. “This president has had endless opportunities to support proven proven policies that raise families and our economy, but their administrations have not been able to do it completely.
“According to reports, the proposals that the Trump administration is considering will not open roads for mothers, families and our economy to prosper,” he added. “Those who want families to have more babies should support the policies that build the families of care infrastructure and the companies they need. When we become a family country, families will have more children.”
