The Judge of the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett, the sister receives a bomb threat: the police

The sister of the Judge of the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett, was recently attacked with a bomb threat, the Charleston Police Department, South Carolina, said Wednesday.

During the weekend, an executive assistant of the Charleston County Sheriff’s department received an email just before midnight on March 8 with “a threat of a possible explosive device in a mailbox” in the house of Amanda Roney Williams, Sheriff’s department said in a statement to ABC News.

The employee only works during the week, so he did not see the email until Monday morning, said the department of the Sheriff. After discovering the email, he notified Sheriff Carl Ritchie “within five minutes of getting to work”, to which Ritchie sent email to the Charleston Police Department.

“Using a 1×8 -inch galvanized galvanized pipe, final tapas, a kitchen timer, some cables, metal clips and black homemade dust, I have built a pipe pump that I recently placed in the mailbox of Amy Coney Barrett’s sister at home,” according to the email obtained by the Charleston Police Department.

The email also said that the “detonation of the device will be activated as soon as the mailbox is opened”, with the suspect signing the email with “free Palestine,” said the police.

The officers arrived at the residence at approximately 9:30 am on Monday and inspected the mailbox, police said.

According to the Police, the CPD explosive device team together with the local fire and emergency medical services teams were on the scene, according to the police.

It was determined that the incident was a false alarm, police said.

The researchers talked to David Williams, Amanda’s husband Roney Williams, who said he was not sure who would point to his residence, but declared that “an unknown person possibly related to the email sender had tried pizza deliveries to some homes related to Amy Robo Barrett, at some point during the weekend,” the police said Wednesday.

The investigation is still active, police said.

Judge Barrett was appointed member of the United States Supreme Court in 2020 during President Donald Trump’s first mandate. She is a devout Catholic, mother of seven children and was the youngest nominated in the Supreme Court since Clarence Thomas in 1991.
